Hey Gorgeous - Buy world's best bikini tops online India
Whether you swim, Dive, play beach volleyball, or are known to do a killer cannonball, owning a bikini that stays put is a necessity. I gathered up a dozen suits. Literally, a dozen, that are wipeout and duck dive proof, but still super cute and don’t make you look like you are training for the olympics. (Although…one line, Joyln, happens to be a favorite of the US water polo team, so they officially have made aquatic olympic training attire look quite chic.)
The latest bikini top Cut bikini does not hold a massive section of the 21st century swimwear market, but the simple, flattering style does seem to be becoming more popular. Offering more support and coverage than the string bikini, the French Cut is a great option for women who aren’t into the full triangle look, but don’t want to go down the underwire or bandeau route either.
Anthropologie, J.Crew
Madewell, Mikoh Swimwear
Origins…
…of the style: Despite seeing more than one version of the French Cut bikini top in several
stores online and in real life, I have not been able to find any information about where the
style came from or who is responsible for it.
The joined, rounded triangle shape of the style does bare a resemblance to the bralette – a
thin, shaped, camisole-style training bra with a little padding but no additional support, that
was introduced to the underwear market in the 1950s. Initially the bralette was created
for teenage girls that required coverage in the bust area, but who’s busts were not yet big
enough for a regular bra, however in more recent times the bralette has made the leap to outwear
as part of the ‘underwear-as-outerwear’ and ‘crop top’ trends.
I assume that the French Cut bikini is inspired by the bralette, but I have not been able to verify this assumption. I have only recently become aware of the French Cut top, so I assume it is a fairly new style on the market, but again I couldn’t find any evidence to prove or disprove this theory. However it came about, the French Cut style is a pretty, feminine style that offers more bust support than the string or bandeau bikini tops and is a great option for women who don’t want/need the full support of an underwire. While the current swimwear market is not exactly flooded with French Cut styles, there are quite a few out there for those who want them, and the number of seems to be growing.

Bandeau Top (Includes any bandeau top with a central decoration)
This bandeau bikini with hardware detailing is by far the best selling piece. 95% of them are white and feature a central decoration, such as a hardware flower with rhinestone jewels, or hardware built into the centre - e.g. a metal heart.
Pros
- The cups are fully padded, and double-lined - it is never see-thru even when wet when the removable pads are in place.
- The pads and the boning on the each side shapes the bust very nicely, pushing you up and out in a balconette style.
- Most come with a removable halter strap, and have a graduated back clasp (3 back loops to hook the back hook into, so you can tailor it to your band size)
Cons
- As 95% of them are white, marks come up easily - and the central jewel can snag the material a little. It is important to look after them and only handwash them to ensure that the centrals jewels stay in place and do not fall out over time.
- They are designed for smaller busted ladies. I would not recommend this for a lady over a 34D (12D)
- Except the white and black tops, this style usually has a specific pattern - so you would have to buy the set, not just the top by itself to match.
Halter (Triangle) Bikini Tops (any top with non-removable halter ties)
Halter Top (formely named Miracle Bra in 2010-2011 then Liya 2011-2013) This top is such a sexy and supportive piece, without the wires! The paded cups give a fantastic shape to your bust, lifting you up and out. The supportive ties are adjustable for a tailored fit. This top is the corner-stone of the VS swimwear collection and every year it is a great seller and I receive many compliments on it. The versatility factor is big as the thicker halter and back strings are fully adjustable, and it is constructed really well, so it is ideal for larger busts.
Pros
- Really well made - with thick halter and back straps that are 100% adjustable
- Removable pads - for different looks
- Excellent for all bust sizes - including larger busts up to a 36DD (14DD)
Cons
- Straps are not removable and may create tan lines
- Cups are larger than most VS triangles, may swallow a smaller bust
- Scarf back ties are great but most the weight will be on the neck knot - may be annoying if worn all day by lucky DD ladies.
Triangle top
Fun, and skimpy - VS's string bikini tops are the basic triangles - and they do a very nice job with the patterns on the front - incorporating feminine designs and raised rhinestone. Most tops have removable pads - this top is not a push-up - it creates a natural shape.
Pros
- Skimpy and Sexy - ideal for smaller busts and implants
- Fully adjustable halter and neck ties
Cons
- Not good for larger bust - straps are too skinny
- Removable pads but if they removed the top may become see-thru
Under-wired Bra Specific Bikini Tops
This top does everything you would expect - its a good solid, safe choice. As it is bra-sized, it is much less of a gamble fit wise and the support is incredible just like a premium Victorias Secret bra.
Pros
- Bra-sized much less of a gamble to order - and great bra like support
- Bra styles available - demi, perfect coverage - push-up
- Graduated back clasp so you adjust it to your band size
Cons
- Under-wiring can poke throw over time, especially when used a lot in salt and or chlorinated water
- Some Halter Straps are not detachable - may create tan lines
Miraculous / Bombshell / Add-2-Cups
For the OOMMPPHHH Factor! The bombshell plunge push-up bikini top has patented padding, that lifts you up and out, instantly adding up to two full cup sizes for maximum cleavage and fullness. This top is very cleverly designed, sporting non removable padding along the sides and the belly of top that gently punches into the bottom of your bust pushing you way up and together for truly the biggest and best poolside cleavage.
Pros
- Provides the greatest plunge / push-up VS offers makes
- Adjustable halter ties
- Graduated back clasp
Cons
- Halter Straps are not detachable
- If you have a large bust but narrow hips and thigh, this top may look a little comical past a 38D - they give you 'too much' bust and can look a little fake. However, if you have got it on the bottom - this top is exactly what you need for that rockin' hourglass shape you are looking for ;-)
- Must be hand washed.
Mesh Bikini Top
The purpose of a Bikini Top is to provide shade so you don't get sunburned cruising around in your cool-lookin' Jeep. The problem with conventional Bikini covers is that they can flop around in a strong cross-wind, and make a lot of noise at highway speed. They also don't let the sun through, which means that you might just as well have the top up with the rear and rear-side windows removed. The solution is a "vented" full-length Bikini Mesh Top – that covers the entire passenger compartment all the way back to the cargo area (why should the dog suffer in direct sunlight?). When you're parked and want complete shade, you can take a Accordion-Style Sun Shade, and if you have the Overhead Console installed, you can slide the shade (shiny side up) between the Gear Console bracket and the mesh top.
Any Bikini Top requires a "header" – which is a 4-foot long piece of extruded plastic (or metal in this case), that holds the windward side of the Bikini Top. This particular Bikini Top is the nicest I've seen; and believe me, in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, there are probably more Jeeps per capita than anyplace else in the country – so I've seen my share of Jeeps.
If you have a Soft Top installed, you can leave the Bikini Top installed; but you must remove the header when you want to put the Soft Top back up; you simply tuck the front end of the Bikini Top up into the (side) Roll Bar. Keeping a Bikini Top in place with the top up is much easier if you have an Overhead Console installed, because the console bracket keeps the loose Bikini Top fabric from falling into the passenger compartment. If you have an Overhead Console installed, you can also construct a Radio Crossbar which will not only provide a place to mount your electronics, but will serve to hold a Bikini Top in place with the Soft Top up.
Stow your folding window shade up above the Overhead Console Bracket, and it will keep the loose Bikini Top fabric out of your way. If you have a mesh top such as this one, and the Soft Top down, you can unfold the shade and the Radio Crossbar will hold it unfolded and in place to provide shade.
Photo at the left shows the Vented (mesh) Bikini Top installed, but not stretched into the header bar, because the header bar is not installed. In this photo, you see the Overhead Console bracket (red arrow) which extends from the center of windshield frame to Roll Bar, holding the Bikini fabric from falling completely into the passenger compartment. Notice that when not attached to the roll bar or door frame, the Bikini fabric is partially falling into the passenger compartment (blue arrows).
The Overhead Console (orange arrows) is visible through the mesh fabric in this photo. The crossbar is primarily used to hold the Reflective Cargo Netting, slightly stretches the Bikini fabric, and provides a place to mount electronic equipment. The Racing Seat in the passenger's spot is visible (red arrow), as is my face reflected in the windshield (yellow arrow). This photo taken from the passenger side of the Jeep, shows the Mesh Top and the Camouflage Overhead Console.
View through the Mesh Bikini Top from the driver's seat looking over right shoulder. Blue arrow is the Smittybilt Overhead Console. The red arrow is the Radio Crossbar holding the Reflective Cargo Net, which holds the Jeep's Log book (green arrow). The Cargo net is below the Bikini Top. The Mesh Bikini tucks into the door frame rails as shown here, or if you have the frame removed, the Bikini Top will fasten to the Roll Bar with the attached Velcro™ closure. Yellow arrow shows the Locking Console, and the red arrow is a hand loop I fashioned out of leftover reflective webbing used to construct a Reflective Cargo Net.
Rear view of the Jeep with the Mesh Bikini Top. The Reflective Cargo Net is totally DIY; there is nothing like this anywhere (unless, of course, you follow the directions on this Web site and make one for yourself). When you have an Overhead Console, a Radio Crossbar, and Reflective Cargo Net installed, you don't have to remove the Bikini Top when you put the Soft Top back up. You simply remove the header bar, and roll up the mesh fabric so that it is held in place between the net and the Soft Top.
In addition, whether or not the Soft Top is up or down, you can store your Windshield Sun Shade between the Cargo Net and the Mesh Bikini Top, or between the Cargo Net and the Soft Top.
Between the Cargo Net and Mesh Bikini Top, the Windshield Sun Shade provides full shade (with the Soft Top down), heat reflection in summer, and a bit of insulation in the cold months. The Sun Shade can be removed or installed in mere minutes.
Whether you surf, dive, swim, play beach volleyball, or are known to do a killer cannonball, owning a bikini that stays put is a necessity.
Criteria for a stay put bikini:
The top: Needs to be fixed. No sliding triangle action = usually little to no
movement.
The Bottom: Needs to have one of the following - Double side ties, a drawstring, or some
kind of thick & secure elastic sides. These tend to be the best bet for a moon free
outing in the water.
When all else fails… wear a t-shirt and get used to having a butt cheek pop out every
now and then. It happens.
Now, the bikinis. Left to right, top to bottom.
- Soriya - Sporty, flirty, and ruched to perfection
- Sensi - These babies got some sweet backs.
- Kore - One of my favorite sporty suits. Bonus points for cool sides.
- L*Space - Bonus: The fringe is fun to braid when there is a lull between sets.
- Ola Feroz - Yeah, this suit is amazing…
- Salt - Awesome feminine racerback.
- Dkoko - Amazing surf kinis from Costa rica. Always fun to get a package in the mail from CR too.
- Maui Girl - Cult favorite separates. My black twist top and Bella bottoms are 5 years old and still going strong. I’m a die hard fan.
- Kali - Designed by a pro surfer. Also getting a package from New Zealand is pretty cool.
- Joyln - Super soft, & affordable. Also gets two thumbs up from the US water polo team. Go USA. I might need to get one just for the olympics.
- Rip Curl - The mirage bikini. So soft you feel naked. But you’re covered.
- Calavera - Saved the best for last. This bikini doesn’t budge a millimeter.
Now I am realizing there are many more, round 2 shall ensue…
